All of us use Hummus as an inseparable part of our platters, but what could we use instead of Hummus? The Answer would be Baba Ganoush!

If you are tired of the same old dips, you need to try Baba Ganoush, a middle eastern eggplant dip with a tantalizing aroma, creamy texture, and mouthwatering taste.

Baba Ganoush will be perfect for your sandwiches. It can be enjoyed with fresh raw crisp vegetable slices or toasted tortillas. Ready to make some?


Step 1

This is an epicBaba Ganoush recipe. To make this amazing eggplant dip, first, you should preheat the oven to 450° F (232° C). For the best result, you need to place the rack in the upper third of the oven. 

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut your eggplants lengthwise and brush them with some olive oil. 

Place them in the prepared sheet with the halved sides down. 

Step 2

The next thing you should do is roasting your eggplants. This is done to make them tender and help with removing their skin more easily. Continue to roast them for about 35 to 40 minutes. Roasted eggplants will give a distinctive taste to your Baba Ganoush.
Remove the eggplants from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes.
Pick a large spoon to scoop out their flesh as much as possible.

Step 3

Line a large mixing bowl and place a mesh strainer over it. Then add the eggplant to the strainer. Be careful and remove any remaining eggplant skin. Allow your eggplants to rest. Then shake and stir them to remove any remaining moisture.

Step 4

Discard the excess water inside the bowl and wipe with a piece of cloth to make it dry. Bring in the eggplants to it. Stir your dip, so that the eggplants will get smashed. It is time to add tahini and combine everything very well.

You can add some olive oil Baba Ganoush. Stir and mix until pale and creamy texture results. In case of any strips of eggplants still existing in your dip, use a fork and smash them well.

Step 5

It is time to add salt, cumin, and fresh parsley leaves. You can adjust the seasoning according to your taste; however, if you wish you may add salt and lemon juice as well.

Step 6

Transfer the aromatic Baba Ganoush to a serving bowl or plate of your choice. In order to garnish it, you can use some olive oil on top and sprinkle it with smoked paprika and parsley.

Serve this fabulous eggplant dip with carrot sticks, bell pepper strips, pita, cucumber slices, or any accompaniment of your choice.
