Tres Leches Cake or Three-Milk Cake is an amazing dessert for your special occasions like birthday parties or holiday gatherings. This delicious cake has a soft and moist texture. It is soaked in a three-milk mixture and topped with sweetened whipped cream. 

This recipe is for a classic and authentic Tres Leches Cake and the best one you will ever try. With this homemade cake, you don’t need any store-bought cake at all. This cake is simple and crowd-pleasing. 


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 176 Celsius (350 F). Butter a 9X13 casserole pan and set it aside. Choose three mixing bowls to start making the best Tres Leches Cake.

Step 2

Choose a large bowl and sift together one cup of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Separate the egg whites and yolks into the other two bowls.

Beat the egg yolk with 3/4 cup of sugar with the electric mixer set at high speed. Continue until yolks are a pale yellow texture for about two minutes. Stir in 1/3 cup of Milk 3% (UHT). Then beat the egg whites on high speed until peaks form; about one minute is enough. While mixing, pour in the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and beat the mixture on high speed for about one minute, until the egg whites are stiff and not too dry.

Step 3

Pour the egg yolk mixture over the flour mixture and fold gently with a spatula. Now fold in the egg whites with the mix just to combine them. Pour the cake batter into the greased pan, and spread it evenly. Place the pan in a preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean.

Step 4

It is time to make the Three-Milk Syrup. Combine 1/3 cup of  Makhsoos Heavy Whipping Cream, evaporated milk, and condensed milk in a bowl. Add one teaspoon of vanilla and combine. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool. When the cake is cool, pierce the surface with a fork. Then drizzle the milk mixture over it slowly.

Step 5

For a delicious whipped cream, pour two cups of cold heavy cream and two tablespoons of sugar into a large mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on high speed for 2 minutes until it is thick and whipped. Spread the whipped cream over the cake with a spatula and decorate it with berries or chocolate pieces if desired.
