  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
  • 2tablespoons soft butter
  • 3cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoonbaking powder
  • 1 1/2 cuporganic sugar
  • 1/2 cupcoconut oil
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3eggs
  • 26tablespoons Kefir Yoghurt
  • 1/4 cupmelted butter
  • 1cup powdered sugar

Nothing tastes better than a homemade warm cake with a desirable cup of tea on a cold winter afternoon. This amazing kefir streusel cake is a perfect dessert for a friendly gathering and kids’ lunch boxes. It tastes magical and has a soft and spongy texture.

The recipe for this kefir pecan streusel cake is easy and simple. Kefir is an excellent addition to this batter. It has many health benefits.


Step 1

Mix the butter and sugar until they form a creamy texture. Stir in the cinnamon and nuts. Mix until crumbly. Set it aside.

Step 2

For a delicious kefir cake batter, choose a large bowl and mix sugar and coconut oil until creamy and silky. Then beat in the Kalleh Kefir Yoghurt. Add vanilla.

Stir in the eggs one by one, and beat after each addition. Now, add the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Beat only to mix the ingredients. Do not over-mix the batter. You can use a spatula and add the flour mixture in batches.

Preheat the oven to 325°F.

Step 3

Choose a cake tin, and grease it with oil, and dust lightly with flour. Spread about 1/2 of the batter in the cake tin. Add 1/2 of the streusel to the batter. Spread it evenly.

Pour the remaining cake batter on top of it. Smooth the surface with a spatula. Sprinkle the rest of the streusel mixture over the top of the batter.

Step 4

Put the tin in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then remove from the tin and let it rest on a cooling rack until just warm.

Step 5

While the cake is cooling, start making the fantastic glaze. Melt the butter and add it to the powdered sugar in a small bowl. Use a fork to mix them well and remove any lumps. Continue until the sugar is dissolved. You want the mixture to have a smooth and silky consistency.

Then add the vanilla and kefir. Beat well until soft. The combination should be in liquid form. If it is thick, you can add more kefir, about one tablespoon at a time. If the mixture is too thin, add more powdered sugar about one tablespoon at a time.

Step 6

Spread over the top of the cake. The cake should be just warm. Drizzle some of the mixtures down the sides of the cake. Simply garnish the cake with pecan halves. Enjoy!
