Ingredients

  • 12uncooked noodleslasagna
  • 4cups shredded and divided mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2cupshredded and divided parmesan cheese
  • 230gramslean ground beef
  • 230gramsItalian sausage
  • 1diced onion
  • 2cloves minced garlic
  • 1kilogram pasta sauce
  • 2tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2cupsricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1beaten egg

Can we find someone that hates lasagna? I don’t think so! Lasagna is probably by far the most favorite food for many people, especially kids. You can make a perfect and delicious dish for your family using this easy homemade lasagna recipe. You need about 1 hour to cook this classic lasagna.

It’s better to make homemade garlic bread to serve with it. For using this lasagna recipe, you may face a bit of difficulty, but in the end, your delicious food will shine on the table!

Instructions

Step 1

Set the oven to 350°F. Follow the package directions and cook the pasta. Then wash it lightly under cold water and set it aside.

Step 2

Add beef, sausage, onion, and garlic into a pan. Heat them until they become brown. In the end, drain any fat.

Step 3

Stir in pasta sauce and tomato paste. If you have Italian seasoning, you can add it too. Remember to keep the food just below the boiling point while being heated.

Step 4

Add 1 ½ cups Mozzarella, ricotta, ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese, parsley, and egg.

Step 5

Select 9×13 pan and add 1 cup meat sauce into it. Put 3 lasagna noodles on top and layer with ⅓ of the cheese mixture and 1 cup of meat sauce. Repeat this step several times until the pan become full.

Step 6

Cover the pan with foil and bake lasagna for 45 minutes. After that time, uncover lasagna and add cheese, then try to bake an additional 15 minutes so lasagna becomes brown.

Step 7

Let your lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting.

Cooking Notes

  • Don’t serve the lasagna immediately after the cooking time. It will become runny and the shape of your food might become ugly and bad. The best solution is to rest your meal for at least 15 minutes, once it is removed from the oven. If you want to reheat your meal, a resting step is not recommended.
  • If you don’t like Ricotta cheese, you can always replace it with cottage cheese. 
  • If you don’t want to use sausage, try to swap it with beef or even ground turkey if you desire.
