  • 400grams Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 450grams ground beef
  • 1small yellow onion, diced
  • 2cloves garlic, cut into small pieces
  • 1tablespoonWorcestershire Sauce
  • 2tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1kilogrambeef broth
  • 450grams (1 package)elbow macaroni
  • 180grams sour cream
  • 120grams whole milk
  • chopped parsleyto garnish
  • salt and pepper as needed

If you have a craving for cheeseburgers, you might not want to go to your nearest fast food joint. Homemade Cheeseburger Casserole can be a great answer to your needs. You only need 30 minutes to cook this fabulous one pot meal!

Cheeseburger Casserole is a creamy combination of ground beef with elbow macaroni topped with melted cheese. Make sure you cook plenty of this dish as you and your family will probably fall in love with it and won’t leave the table.

Best served in cold winter, you can easily store this food, and you can take it to work or your soccer practice. You just need to be careful not to loose it to friends or coworkers.


Step 1

keep the shredded Cheddar Cheese at room temperature.

Step 2

Sprinkle salt and pepper on the ground beef.

Step 3

Cook the ground beef along with the onions in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook for 7-8 minutes and stir often. The beef should crumble, and the onions should become soft. Drain the skillet of all grease.

Step 4

Add the garlic and cook it for one minute.

Step 5

Then, it is time to add the tomato paste and Worcestershire Sauce and mix them well.

Step 6

The uncooked elbow macaroni and the beef broth are added next. Stir and simmer the mixture over medium-low heat.

Step 7

Put the lid on the pot. During the next 4 minutes, remove the lid and stir, then cover again for another 4 minutes.

Step 8

Turn the heat to low. Add the sour cream and half of the whole milk and stir.

Step 9

As you stir, add the shredded Cheddar. After the cheese has melted and an equal consistency has been achieved, you can top it with the remaining cheese.

Step 10

Cover the skillet again and cook for another couple of minutes until the cheese melts. You can top the dish with chopped parsley and serve.

Cooking Notes

Add the other half of milk only if you wish to do so.  

Keep the sour cream and the whole milk at room temperature before adding them to the skillet. 

It is better if you buy the cheese and shred it yourself at home.
