To make the best Homemade Ravioli, start by making your Chicken Ravioli dough. On a clean surface, add the flour and salt and lightly mix with a fork until combined.
Now, use your hand, make a well in the middle of the flour mixture, add the eggs, olive oil, and water to the center of the well and lightly whisk the Homemade Ravioli dough a bit.
Keep on kneading the dough with your hands until the preferred consistency results. Once the dough is ready, knead it and fold it on top of itself for about ten minutes.
In case your dough feels extra dry, you can add some water. The Ravioli dough shouldn’t be crumbly and sticky. Next, form the dough into a ball, place it in a bowl and wrap it with plastic wrap. Let the dough sit undisturbed at room temperature for one hour.
Now, it is time to make the filling. While the dough is resting, add one tablespoon of olive oil to a skillet and heat it over medium flame. Then add the ground chicken and cook over medium-high heat until the meat is no longer pink.
To mix some of the ingredients, you need a bowl of a food processor or a blender. Add parsley, garlic, and carrot to it and pulse until everything is chopped.
Add the cooked chicken, Parmesan Cheese, egg, Ricotta cheese, and seasonings. Pulse the mixture until everything is thoroughly mixed. Scrape down the sides if needed.
On a large surface, unwrap the dough and tear off a chunk about the size of a tennis ball. Dust the work surface with flour, place the dough on it. Add a bit of flour to the dough.
Grab a rolling pin to roll your dough in all four directions. Roll it out and away, back and forth, and side to side until it forms a rectangle.
Then choose a ravioli tray and lightly coat it with non-stick cooking spray. Remember to grease both the top and bottom of the press tray.
Put the shaped dough on top of the tray. Then, place the tray on top to create a well and press down on the dough. Remove the press with a spoon.
Stuff your Ravioli with chicken filling. Try not to overfill it. After one or two Ravioli, you learn the steps. Then, you will see how easy it is to shape and fill them.
Next, roll out another piece of dough precisely as you did before and lay it gently on top of the filled Ravioli.
Take the rolling pin and lightly roll over the Homemade Ravioli to seal it completely. You can also do this step with your hands or the back of a spoon. Carefully remove the excess dough from the edges of the frame and run your finger down all the cross grooves to ensure all sides of your chicken ravioli are sealed.
Lift the tray and carefully turn the Ravioli onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. You should quickly release them from the tray. Continue making the Ravioli by collecting dough and rolling it.
At this point, you can freeze the Chicken Ravioli or cook it. If you decide to cook a fantastic Ravioli, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Chicken Ravioli and cook it for 5 to 6 minutes.
Once it reaches the surface, your fabulous Italian Ravioli is ready. Transfer to a plate and serve with your favorite dressing. Enjoy!
